AR/VR: Spatial Experience in Landscapes

As a co-author, I actively explore how immersive technologies like Augmented Reality (AR) and Virtual Reality (VR) can simulate and study human perception, interaction, and movement within landscape environments.

AR/VR enables users to experience real or designed outdoor spaces—such as parks, gardens, and urban plazas—in digital, interactive formats. Focuses on spatial experience—how people perceive and navigate form, scale, movement, and atmosphere physically and psychologically.

The Role of Landscape in Mental Health

As a co-author in this experimental study, we examine how urban green spaces contribute to mental restoration, emphasizing key landscape design elements.

AR/VR Spatial Experience Lab at ECU

We have established the AR/VR Spatial Experience Research Lab at East Carolina University, located in Rawl Annex, Room 2. In this lab, student researchers create AR and VR environments to support a variety of academic projects. We welcome innovative ideas and are always open to collaborating with fellow research enthusiasts. If you're interested, please don’t hesitate to reach out and explore potential opportunities with us.
